TRICHOLOGY (HAIR TREATMENT)

Trichology (Greek trichos-hair and logos-science) is a science that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the hair and scalp.

As a separate scientific direction, it arose in the XIX century. The relevance of the development of this scientific branch is due to the widespread occurrence of hair loss in various age groups of the population.

Pay attention to those pathological conditions in which a trichologist’s consultation is required․

1. Pathological hair loss (please note that the loss of 80-100 hairs per day is considered a physiological norm)
2. Loss of shine, firmness, elasticity of hair (dry, dull, brittle hair)
3. thinning and thinning of hair
4. Hair foci (scalp, face: beard, eyebrows, eyelashes, body)
5. Diseases of the scalp (scalp seborrhea, scalp psoriasis, folliculitis …)
6. Peeling or greasiness of the scalp

METHODS OF OPTICAL INVESTIGATION OF HAIR LOSS

In addition to collecting anamnesis and the necessary biochemical studies of the problems of the scalp and hair in general, studies are also conducted under the name “trichological triad”.

The Trichological Triad

  • trichoscopy
  • phototrichogram
  • comparative image viewing

Trichoscopy is a non-invasive method of optical examination, with the help of which the․

  • trichoscopic structural units: the condition of the hair shaft, the opening of the follicle, capillaries of the scalp.
  • assessment of the diameter, strength and number of follicular units of hair before and after treatment
  • diagnosis of a certain type of hair loss

It is performed with a magnifying lens from 10 to 1000 times with or without immersion gel (dry).

Non-immersion trichoscopy we appreciate․

  • peeling
  • of seborrhea
  • circular follicular
  • keratinization condition of the follicle trunk

Immersion trichoscopy-assess the condition of the capillaries of the scalp.

DIRECTED BIOCHEMICAL LABORATORY STUDIES

Depending on the type of hair loss detected as a result of clinical examination and instrumental examination, there is a need for certain biochemical laboratory studies.

CLINICAL EXAMINATION

Clinical examination by a specialist is a clinical (visual) examination of the lesion.

METHODS OF TREATMENT

Trichological methods of treatment are

  • Local and injectable drugs.
  • Vitamin and mineral supplements.
  • Physiotherapeutic agents

The latter affect the biochemical and physiological processes of the hair follicle and the surrounding skin․

  • Microcurrent therapy
  1. Intradermal neurostimulation
  2. Electromyostimulation
  • Ultrasonic phonophoresis
  • Darsonvalization
  • Laserphoresis
